Who's in charge?

In life, I enjoy holding the door for people.  It's a small thing, but it makes their lives just a little bit easier, if not better.  I'm always amazed when children come rushing through the front doors of our school without holding the door open for their parents.  I think this is an easy thing for children to do, but it has a large impact on the way they see the world.  They should patiently wait at the door holding it open until the parent has made it through.  It's a way of saying: "mom, dad, I see you and care about you enough to hold this open for you."  Wouldn't it be better for the children to serve the parents in this way?
